Crafting ideas into code, one star at a time.

What is hoshime?

Hoshime started out as an idea to invest into the future and turned into reality. I was stuck with all these ideas, a Portfolio Website, A Dashboard, or something interactive and be proud of it. So Hoshime turned into an Interactive Portfolio. Here I will show off all the projects that I've worked on, and if they are interactable within the site, you could login and access the project in the dashboard. And if you want to read about the projects, you can check out the projects page without logging in and see a short description and each building blocks that I've used.

Behind the Build

Hoshime was build mostly from scratch. There was the design phase using pen and paper before moving on to Figma. After designing, Hoshime entered its planning an development phase. It's build upon HTML5, PHP, Bootstrap, Javascript, and using MySQL. The most things you can currently see is thanks to bootstrap, some custom CSS, and some basic HTML learned in school. Currently PHP is being used as part of the back-end, for example the Login/Registration forms, and the dashboard.

The Journey Forward

Now that the building blocks are there, I will be updating Hoshime regularly by adding new projects, or maybe even update some of the existing code. This has been a learning experience, especially after my first site flopped. I've learned some more about the differences between Front-End and Back-End and how to deal with it. There were some systems I've never worked with before but has taught me a valuable lesson and I'll be implementing the information I've learned into future projects.
